Super hack

ice bathing

Why go out in the cold?

Cold is a super hack.

Cold reduces inflammation, strengthens the immune system, trains the cardiovascular system, converts (bad) white fat into (good) beige fat, stimulates the mitochondria, lifts the mood, etc.

Cold counteracts inflammation, accelerates regeneration after exercise and wound healing, improves the functioning of our immune system, stimulates the vagus nerve, thereby increasing heart rate variability and our ability to relax. And much more besides… Cold is an absolute super hack!

A quick tip for amateur bodybuilders:

Taking a cold shower for longer than ten minutes (at ten degrees Celsius) or an ice bath for longer than three minutes (at three degrees Celsius) after training will help you recover faster – but your muscle growth will be significantly reduced. So take shorter cold showers, alternate between hot and cold showers, or wait until the next morning for your next cold session.
